SAIT Feature - From Traceability to Trusted Traceability: The Role of Blockchain in Modern Supply Chains

Traceability is evolving from simple product tracking to a system that must provide verified, reliable data across complex global supply chains. SAIT’s 1TrueID solution addresses this by combining blockchain with RFID, NFC, and serialized QR codes to create secure digital product identities and certify supply chain events, helping organizations meet regulatory requirements and build trust with partners and consumers.

AIM Global to Develop Standards-Based Item Identifier Lookup Service

AIM is spearheading development of the ISO/IEC 15459 IAC-CIN Lookup Service. Consumers and regulators can utilize this automated system to access comprehensive product information including authenticity and sustainability tracking, while streamlining access to user manuals and guidelines. The ISO/IEC 15459 lookup service takes the current Issuing Agency Register in paper format and transforms it into an online, open, federated, interoperable searchable database.

This is especially critical for the EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) regulations by enabling accurate, trustworthy tracking from manufacturing to recycling, and facilitating compliance with upcoming regulations for batteries, textiles, and electronics. Unlike proprietary, for-profit systems, a standards-based approach provides a level playing field for everyone to securely retrieve relevant, up-to-date information.

The ISO/IEC 15459 IAC-CIN Lookup Service will be operational by the end of May 2026.

We are now accepting speaker and sponsor interest for the upcoming RFID Community Connect virtual event taking place May 19-20.  We are looking for organizations ready to showcase how RFID delivers real-world business value. This event is designed to spotlight successful RFID implementations, practical lessons learned, and the technologies and partnerships helping advance RFID interoperability and best practices across industries. In particular, AIM encourages companies to consider presenting alongside their customers in a focused 20-minute session that highlights a live deployment, measurable results, and the collaborative journey behind a successful RFID solution. If your organization has a compelling RFID story to tell, now is the time to get involved.

Organizations interested in increasing visibility can also take advantage of a $500 community sponsorship, which includes consideration for a speaking opportunity, logo placement on all pre- and post-event materials, a promotional page in AIM’s pre- and post-show event guides, and recognition throughout the event. Sponsorship is a great way to position your company as a leader in RFID innovation. To discuss event opportunities and see what may be available, contact Mike Allen to set up a call.
