We're thrilled to announce that the VUEMED-LLUH (Loma Linda University Health) partnership has just been named Runner-Up for RFID Journal’s "Best Logistics/Supply Chain RFID Implementation," beating out over 30 nominees from around the globe in numerous industries. We were recognized for using RAIN RFID technology to achieve full visibility and tracking of all medical products and devices at LLUH's International Heart Institute, which has resulted in improved patient safety and cost savings. Recalled products are now traced to patients in seconds, expired devices are never placed in patients, required products for procedures are guaranteed to be available, and electronic medical records are always accurate and complete. At the same time, LLUH gained full control over the spending and utilization of supplies, which has reduced unnecessary purchases and waste levels, optimized inventory size and composition, and ensured full charge capture. LLUH is now also able to support a significant increase in complexity and volume of cases without any significant increases in on-hand inventory. Check out our newest blog about the importance of effective recall management of medical devices and supplies. Hospitals must have the capability to quickly flag recalled products, remove them from the shelves, and then track them to individual patients. Tracking recalls to patients is a particularly cumbersome and time-consuming process, and often not done comprehensively, but VUEMED's solutions ensure that hospitals have the means to act efficiently and swiftly.
