In collaboration with AIM and GS1US, the Application Identifier (8009) with Sensor Descriptor Attribute 01 was developed to assist users who wish to encode sensor parameters as an Application Identifier (AI) in the same GS1 symbol as the product to which the senor is attached. It is used in conjunction with colorimetric temperature threshold label sensors. These are often (but not exclusively) used in safety monitoring of fresh foods, frozen foods, and healthcare items.
