This document has been assembled to satisfy ISO requirements for references in the ISO/IEC 15424 document. The AIM Plessey, Anker and MSI Codes archive document, which is a compendium of four historical documents and a research paper, will be that reference. This document could also serve as a definitive reference for manufacturers who wish to support the symbologies with equipment designed to print or read these symbols. This document includes example symbols with the three different termination bar sizes and describes the technical distinctions between Plessey, Anker and MSI symbologies. AIM Historical Reference documents are provided as a guide to individuals and companies that require information about legacy bar code symbologies that have not been issued as specifications by AIM or a national or international body. These documents are compilations of known technical references for these symbologies. These historical references may not contain comprehensive descriptions and may at times include information that conflicts with other included reference documents. Any omissions or conflicts reflect the uncertain nature of the symbology's specifications. Historically, variations on some proprietary symbologies have been created. When these variations exist, they are included in the historical reference documents. AIM assumes no responsibility for omissions in, or conflicts between, the compiled documents. This document is not an official AIM symbology specification and is provided for historical reference only.
